Our latest sustainability partner: Trees4Travel
We’re thrilled to announce that North47 has partnered with Trees4Travel, a company committed to reforestation and offsetting carbon emissions through tree-planting initiatives around the world. As part of this collaboration, we are taking action to help the environment by planting one tree for every traveller who joins us on a North47 group ski trip.
This initiative will start with all our 2025/26 ski tours, meaning that every student, teacher, or group leader embarking on an unforgettable adventure with North47 will also be leaving a lasting, positive impact on the planet. We're excited to kick things off by contributing 47 trees to a mangrove reforestation project in Mozambique, Africa.
Why Mangrove Reforestation Matters
Mozambique is home to rich biodiversity, but over 8 million hectares of its forests have been lost due to cyclones, flooding, and deforestation for farmland and charcoal production. The mangroves being planted as part of this project play a vital role in protecting the coastline from erosion, providing nursery habitats for marine life, and absorbing carbon dioxide. In fact, mangroves store 5 to 10 times more carbon per acre than rainforests, making them incredibly powerful tools in the fight against climate change.
Our trees will be planted at the Mahubo reforestation site in the Boane district, just south of Mozambique's capital, Maputo. This site is an essential habitat for marine animals, birds, and even crocodiles, and planting trees here not only helps the environment but also benefits the local community. The project creates jobs, empowers local farmers, and helps lift the region out of poverty by ensuring long-term economic stability.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
At North47, we know that travel has an impact on the world, and we want to make sure that impact is positive. By partnering with Trees4Travel, we’re taking steps to ensure that future generations can enjoy the stunning landscapes and natural beauty of our planet—just as our groups enjoy the Austrian Alps today.
Starting with the 2025/26 season, every traveller who books with us will have a tree planted on their behalf in a region in need. We’re proud to have already started by contributing 47 trees to Mozambique, and this is only the beginning. Each tree planted not only offsets carbon emissions but also contributes to the health of local ecosystems and communities
