Our Partners

North47 Snow Tracks

North47 partners with Wolfgang Pfeifhofer Ski School and have together created a first-class service working with school groups, putting to use their vast knowledge and understanding of the industry. Their employment of fluent English-speaking instructors built up over many years enables a level of care that has party leaders coming back year after year. Ski School Wolfgang Pfeifhofer has complete control over employment and training of their instructors and complies with all the requirements and standards of the Austrian Ski School Association.

The ski school also offers huge flexibility. Each instructor is dedicated to their group of students all day, including during the lunchtime period, which allows a group to be independent without restrictions, travelling further into the resort if ability allows, thus assisting greatly with progression as well as freeing the party leader and school staff to enjoy their own skiing if they wish to or attend to other tasks.

Due to the unique partnership between North47 and Ski School Wolfgang Pfeifhofer, the backup that has been put in place to support the party leader is second to none. From first setting foot off the coach in the car park, getting skis ready and negotiating the chairlift, to equipment changes up the mountain and stress-free lunch arrangements, and most importantly to emergency assistance in case of accidents or illness – Ski School Wolfgang Pfeifhofer are with you all the way, which means that even party leaders and members of staff who cannot ski themselves can rest assured they are in good hands.

North47 Snow Tracks

Situated at the top of the Gernkogelbahn chairlift (also known as the 6-man) on a ridge at the beginning of the valley run, the Kreistenalm mountain restaurant is the “home base” for our groups and an important business partner for North47. This large but warm, cosy and traditional restaurant with its beautiful sun terrace also happens to be at the base of a tree-lined beginners’ area – a very safe and gradual slope with no other pistes anywhere near it.

The business relationship and friendship with the owner, Hans, and his family, built up over the years, means our groups are well catered for and unlike some mountain restaurants, students are offered a very warm welcome, along with large portions and great value for money.  Here, we reserve tables for lunches; here is where students who are struggling or unwell can rest or sit out in the warm (schools sometimes station one teacher here during the day); here, is the usual meeting point at the end of the day before taking the chair lift down to the car park and the North47 office; and here, we provide overnight slopeside ski storage (meaning no lugging of skis and poles back to the coach each day).  The hosts are so obliging that there is even a drawer with spare ski gloves etc. in case anyone mislays theirs!

Buy and sell pre-loved skiwear

If you're a parent/carer or a student who is keen to save money and help keep winter sports clothing out of landfills, look at the WhoSki website. This specialised, peer-to-peer marketplace allows you to buy and sell good as new ski clothing at budget friendly prices. Your old is someone else’s new!

In the UK, 350k tonnes of used clothing goes to landfill annually; another 80k is incinerated. That amounts to 11 million pieces of discarded clothing every week. Winter sports clothing is part of this problem – some items can take over 200 years to biodegrade and are now even starting to turn up in textile dumps in the Global South.

WhoSki.com is an award winning, UK-based circular economy business with a sustainable ideology, driving change in the winter sports sector and keeping ski wear in active use. Every time someone sells and buys via their peer-to-peer marketplace, one less item pollutes the environment or is repurposed. In addition, 10% of WhoSki’s commission is donated to award-winning teenage mental health charity, stem4.

As part of our sustainability policy, we are delighted to promote WhoSki to our school groups so that they can consider buying used ski wear before new. This not only helps the environment but gives families a small financial boost – saving money on ski wear and selling their own unwanted kit, so making a few pennies too.
